PostSharp Tools for Visual Studio 2017 cannot be installed...

I get this from the installer for PS 5.0.34:

PostSharp Tools for Visual Studio 2017 cannot be installed because these prerequisites are missing:
Visual Studio Core Editor (Visual Studio Build Tools 2017)
Just-In-Time Debugger (Visual Studio Build Tools 2017)

I have the latest Build Tools installed, in addition to VS 2017. I am not sure what option I didn't include when I installed. I tend toward kitchen-sink installations, so am surprised. How do I install the Core Editor and JIT? (I realize, you shouldn't have to know details of how I install my compiler, but I am hoping, ...)

    Hello,

    we are aware of a similar issue with Test Professional being installed along with other VS products. Could you please send us VSiX Installer log and PostSharp.Settings log? You can find these in %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Temp.

    Hi - we are also having the same issue where PostSharp will not install on our build machine. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    We found a work around - uninstall the build tools allows the installation to proceed. Then you can re-install the build tools and everything is ok.

    Hello Michael,

    you don't have to install PostSharp Tools on the build machine. The build should run fine without them.

    Thank you, I installed PS successfully after uninstalling the build tools. Then I reinstalled the build tools. The machine seems to work as well as before, now.
